🌍 Macro and Geopolitics

🔥 US–Iran talks over reopening the Strait of Hormuz keep oil swinging. Brent is down 1.4% to about $96.7, WTI at $88.9. 🛢️

🏦 Core PCE rose just 0.2% m/m in August (forecast 0.3%), and the annual rate eased to 3.0%. Odds of an October Fed hike are around 38%. ✅

⚠️ The US 10-year yield is still elevated at 5.28%, close to multi-decade highs.

🇯🇵 Nikkei 225: +3.1% to 68,840 on chip and AI stocks. The Tankan large manufacturers index came in at 24 (forecast 25, previous 22) 🚀
